Because Woosehill Community Church is an Ecumenical Partnership we have two
ministers. One, Haigh Etches is an Anglican minister and shares his work
between St. Catherine's Church, Bearwood and ourselves here on Woosehill. The
second, Libby Godden is a Methodist Minister with pastoral responsibilities for
Woosehill who also works with Bracknell Methodist Church. We have a licensed lay minister Elaine
Steere.

Rev. Libby Godden
Libby is the Methodist minister appointed from September
2005 to work part-time in Woosehill Community Church and Bracknell Methodist
Church. She lives with her family in
Sandhurst. For Libby, the emphasis of
Christianity is not so much as a religion, so much as a lifestyle based on the
model of Jesus Christ, whose radical love and acceptance could transform the
world if we allowed it to.
Libby also works in Aldershot as the part-time administrator
for the Ehlers-Danlos Support Group, a national charity committed to supporting
people suffering from the rare genetic condition, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome – a
secular role which complements her work as a minister.
Libby has many varied leisure interests, but the two that
take up most of her spare time are brass banding and family history.
Whilst having no ancestors with
a circus background, she has nevertheless become something
of a juggler with her various commitments to Church,
secular work, home and - not least - family.

Revd. Haigh Etches
Haigh
Etches has been the Anglican minister of Woosehill Church since it began in
1984. He is also Rector of St. Catherine’s Bear Wood, a beautiful church very
popular for weddings! Haigh lives in Sindlesham surrounded by books about a wide
variety of subjects, including astronomy, poetry, archaeology, and the history
of railways and canals! He is also passionate about art and drama (particularly
Shakespeare), and often brings references to them into his sermons. On his days
off Haigh is usually found in London, visiting galleries or the theatre. |

Elaine Steere (Licensed Lay
Minister)
Elaine’s job as a lab
technician at a local school involves supporting the Physics and Lower School teachers,
and her family life she supports the various activities of husband Pete,
student son Rob and teenage daughters Kate and Lyndsey, so supporting the work
of the ordained ministers at Woosehill comes naturally to her! She leads
services about once a month and is involved in many activities including Alpha,
Outreach and the Children’s Holiday Club, where she inevitably ends up hoarse,
panting and covered with glue, but has an absolutely brilliant time.
If
she ever gets any free time, Elaine enjoys watching football (especially if
Arsenal are playing!) and reading fantasy novels. |
